Muku no Ki no Hanashi (1947)
Oh, goodie, what do we have here? A vintage 1947 short right after the end of World War II? Yeah, and guess what: Disney’s Fantasia (1940) inspired this, especially the “Night on Bald Mountain” from Mussorgsky. It plays out the same but has a different undertone about modern Japanese history. Nevertheless, it’s quite a fun little short to watch, so… enjoy!
